What If The Lies Are True

Back in March of 2016 I was curled up in a fetal position crying on my bed.  I was uncomfortable, I was defeated, and I was hopeless.  I had recently closed the doors on my dream of starting my own business and reluctantly took a sales job to pay the bills.  I had jumped into my dream with both feet, I spent all the money I had, and when that ran out, I borrowed more.  I pushed back the fear that I didn’t have what it takes, that I wasn’t a REAL entrepreneur, that I was an imposter who just hung out in networking groups, but it seemed I was wrong to push back the fear - I had failed ...again.  I felt small and I felt embarrassed.

3 Tips to Experiencing More Magic during the Holidays

Jake and I wanted to take the time to make this video because there is so much "busyness" during this time of year. If we don't take the time to slow down and choose what we want to focus on - the magic will slip away. So how do we experience more magic during this time of the year when there is so much going on? There are company parties to attend, gifts to buy, decorations, baking, travel plans, friends and family to see, and all crammed in a short amount of time. Before we know it's January 1st and a brand new year.

So our challenge for you this year is to slow down, take a deep breath, and choose the magic you will focus on enjoying. This will allow you to experience these holidays in a whole new level.

How well do you handle daily stress? Do you ever find yourself craving unhealthy foods on days you feel overwhelmed or more stressed? I totally know how you feel and was the same exact way! When I felt unhappy or overwhelmed with life I would crave unhealthy foods that would taste "sooo good". Unfortunately, this caused me to gain weight and struggle with it for years with out a solution that helped! 

It wasn't until I discovered it was my brain, wanting relief from this stress. Our brain either seeks pleasure or avoids pain. So when I was experiencing "pain" and not handling my emotions properly it would create cravings for certain unhealthy foods. This creates dopamine, also known as false pleasures, that temporarily makes me feel like "everything is going to be ok". 

  • What is emotional eating?
  • How cravings can come from unmanaged emotions.
  • Overcome unhealthy cravings without restricting yourself.
  • How willpower doesn't work for the long run in curbing cravings.
